2019 II BEAUTY FOR FREEDOM ngo x project ghana

Empowerment workshops with survivors of human trafficking through the creative arts.

One of Beauty for Freedom’s ongoing project is an art therapy initiative in partnership with Challenging Heights - a local organization in Ghana who rescues and rehabilitates children from labor trafficking. This is the third year that Beauty For Freedom has been working with them, helping survivors rebuild their lives, accompanying them on their path to socio-economic independence, for greater stability.

Jennifer volunteered as a photography instructor, working with over 500 survivors of labor trafficking and at-risk youth.

Beauty for Freedom is a non-profit dedicated to empowering survivors of human trafficking and at-risk youth through creativity and skills training. Creativity has been proven to help survivors rebuild their lives, providing them with stability and putting them on the path to socio-economic independence. Since 2014, BFF has empowered and supported over 3,000 survivors of human trafficking and at-risk youth in the United States, Ghana, India, Dominican Republic, Cambodia and Haiti. These survivors are creating their own narratives about their lives through the creative programming BFF offers.
